    Description

    A fine antique round split basket with bentwood swing handle, very nice design, balance and proportion.  About 7"H to rim, 14"H including handle and 12 1/2"D.  Basket features a thick top rim wrapped with splint that is all intact except on piece by handle. Basket has a raised center to the bottom. Handle is hand carved and bent and is sturdy and in fine working order.  Pleasing patination.  Very good overall antique condition: one hand carved loop or hinge for swing handle has a crack that does not go all the through.  Tight basket weaving, sturdy overall.
