Round Woven Basket Dome Lidded Asian Natural Colors Knot Hinge & Closure 9 x 9
Woven Rattan or Wicker basket w Lid Asian Natural Colors Knotted hinge Loop Closure 9 x 9
From collector's estate, some of his Asian baskets came from Laos so I imagine the area where this basket was made should be close, I could not figure out what was the purpose of the shape, it looks a bit like the sticky rice baskets but this one has too much craftsmanship to have it getting cleaned up so often where the contrasting strands could be damaged, the use has to be something dry, like storage for nuts,a seamstress basket, etc.
Dusted as much as I could there is still some left in the crevices, perhaps someone with the right tools will be able to get it done. One loose strand.
