VTG STALEY'S CORN PRODUCTS FLOUR SACK HALF BODY ANTIQUE DOLL PATCH SEAMSTRESS

Description

Offered for auction a lovely "RARE VINTAGE STALEY'S 140 lbs. CORN PRODUCT FLOUR SACK HANDMADE HALF-BODY DOLL W/PRINTED FACE, "THE PATCH SEAMSTRESS".  This unusual half-body torso doll is handmade and depicts a young seamstress, who instead of wearing lavish attire characteristic of what she creates for others, is dressed in patchwork sackcloth.  Her dress is decorated with an array of vintage buttons and handmade patchwork.  Cloth strawberries dangle from her right hand and a needle threader occupies her left hand.  A functioning pin cushion is fixed to her right side and a patchwork bonnet surrounds her cheerful countenance.  This doll is in good to very good vintage pre-owned condition with normal wear.  There is a couple nicks to the bodice but none to the sack skirt.  There is seamed closure at the bottom.  The length from head to bottom hem...approx. 24".  The manufacturers name "STALEY'S" is faded but still visible, also printed "ECLIPSE"..."140 lbs"..."PRODUCTS FROM CORN".
