Xingu Tribe Beaded Basket

Description

Xingu tribe from Brazil handwoven and embellished basket with strap. The beading is done on hand woven fabric that is sewn onto the basket and there are four engraved brass bells attached to the top band, there is strap on the top I assume is for carrying. The height is 13 1/2 inches, width is 7 inches and it is 14 inches deep. The circumference is 20 inches. This is an antique purchased at Neiman Marcus in the mid ‘70’s during their Brazilian fortnight. It is in quality antique condition
